The favelas had erupted in rage and violence. As the street gangs roared en masse in rage, three of the Crusaders struggled with the afflicting emotion that swept across them. Aegis, the team leader, seemed to be immune which would later bring up certain questions. For now, he was physically disarming the police as they fired on him and tried to not let them hit each other. His warning to the people in earshot to return home was unheeded.

For Jackhammer and Paragon, their only thoughts seemed to be about cutting loose their anger on the street gangs in front of them as bodies were sent flying. Aquaria fought against it as well before finally giving herself a nosebleed but she could "feel" clearly now as the human onslaught towards her continued with reckless abandon. She would need to do something fast, perhaps unleash something she recently figured out about her powers.

Evelyn felt something wet running down her face, but she could feel clearly now. She reached up to her face to see what the wetness was and discovered it was blood. Looking around, while wiping her hand off on her uniform, she knew she didn't have anything to mop up the blood so she just let it run down her face. She noticed that the other people were continuing towards her. She had to do something fast. She needed more help but she knew that the others had their own problems as well.

She knew what to do to get herself help. Taking a deep breath, she started to concentrate and calling all the water to herself. As she did, she split the water in half and two humanoid figures of water started to form. When they reached the desired height, about her own height, she sent them forward into the crowd. To help her subdue the people and attack who needed to be attacked.

Something was wrong but Max was not sure what it was. He was making solid progress but it seemed like Paragon seemed "off," The team was not communicating and that was something they needed to do to make it out of this mess. Max continued to wade through the officers trying to stop anyone from getting hurt and hurting themselves he questioned if his effort was going to be enough? It was clear at this point that they needed to find the source of this disturbance and disable it. That was the only fix and Max was not sure that was going well either.

"What's everyone's status?" Aegis called trying to get some sort of an update, still trying to understand. "Eva can you see anything?"

Almost like it had started, the street gangs stopped fighting. It started like a wave somewhere up in the favelas and slowly swept downhill and building up speed as if something or someone just stomped on the brakes. As it stopped all those who had been affected started to collapse out of sheer exhaustion, many of them fainting as a result.

As it swept through where the Crusaders were at, the people around them slowly collapsed out of exhaustion. This eventually included both Jackhammer and Paragon, with the latter slamming into the ground creating a small crater. The police in the area collapsed as well. The overall sense of fatigue was tremendous. While Aegis seemed unaffected, Aquaria only partially affected and just felt drained and overexerted more from whatever it was that had caused this and using her Powers.

For things to uncoil in this manner would indicate it was orchestrated. The real questions were who was responsible? Why did they do it? Was it a preliminary event for something far worse? Can you imagine if this suddenly happened across an entire city or country? How would things end up?

Evelyn looked around in shock as people started to collapse. As she watched them, the water figures lost their figure and fell to the ground in a pool of water. She got on the comms, saying "It looks like whatever that rage was, passed. Any updates? Jackhammer, Paragon, Aegis?" She wiped her forehead as she looked around. She was tired, but it was from more overexerting then anything else. Oh and also fighting off that rage feeling that had come over her.

Eva chimed in over the comm. "If there are wounded, we should get them tended to. I'll alert the emergency medical teams in the city that it is safe to enter the area. But is it looking like everyone is still alive, correct? Makes me wonder not only who may have done this but also if this was just a testrun. Aegis, are you picking up anything? Paragon is showing to be alive but unconscious at the moment." Cochorro growled at her feet and settled back down on to his side.

Aquaria easily found Paragon unconscious in the crater she created when she slammed into the ground. Jackhammer was also unconscious but probably more due to exhaustion. The guns which Aegis had tossed into a pile were off to one side. Paramedics started arriving and checking the police officers first, most of whom had collapsed as things subsided. Questions still remained as to what was going and why it happened.

Evelyn winced when she saw the size of the crater. She slid down to the bottom of it to check on Paragon. She said "Eva, Paragon and Jackhammer are both unconscious. Jackhammer doesn't look too injured, but Paragon is at a bottom of a crater from when she fell. Have you heard from Giga?" She knelt there beside Paragon. She wasn't going to move the woman, not until the EMTs got there. That was a big no no. The unconscious woman could have injuries that she couldn't tell. She would wait by her side until then.

As the paramedics made their way through the area helping those with bruises and worse, Shift appeared quickly and disappeared grabbing the Crusader team members one by one and returning them to the base in Rio. Most of the team was placed in to the medical bay. With everyone safe, Shift spoke to Eva privately before speaking to Aquaria and Aegis.

"With the Brazilian government having watched what unfolded, they have asked the Crusaders to remove themselves from this country. The base will remain but no Bravo team will be placed here for the time being. Eva is staying to provide assistance and monitor all situations. Every member of team Rio is to pack their bags and those unable to do so will have their stuff packed for them before transport. Given that most of the team is unavailable at this point, I'll be moving them now starting with Cobalt so you'll have time to pack."

Shift quickly disappeared with Cobalt and teleported him away before returning over the course of the next hour to teleport the still injured members of the team. Returning afterwards to take Aegis and the Aquaria to their new destinations. After he disappeared with Cobalt, Eva turned to the duo. "I'll miss this team. It may have been short lived but I've enjoyed your company. Please stay in touch. Also, feel free to take some of the leftovers still in the fridge. The fish will not last for more than another day or two. Please take some with you." She stood and gave them both a hug.

When they were transported back to the base and told that they were being removed, Evelyn couldn't help but feel like she had failed. Most of the team was down and the only way they were able to stop that mass rage incident was whoever had done it to stop it. It wasn't easy fighting off that rage and even now she was still tired from it, but she knew she wouldn't get some sleep until later when she got to her new destination, wherever that maybe.

Evelyn looked at Eva and she nodded, hugging the woman back, before she headed upstairs to pack. When she finished packing, she headed downstairs and took some of the fish out of the fridge, wrapping it up. She then headed to the living room and sat down, waiting for Shift to come back, thinking all the while thinking what could have done differently.
